Our single-place or double-place kayaks offer the perfect way to visit the hidden creeks and wildlife that are home to the Grand Canyon. Take a one or a two-hour trip to go exploring or simply relax and take in every moment of this amazing experience.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A KAYAK AND A CANOE?

Kayaking requires a double-bladed paddle. to ensure stability and accurate steering. Canoeing, on the other hand, is carried out in a kneeling position and requires a single-bladed paddle.

You sit in the kayak with your legs out straight to make you more comfortable. This is a relaxing position for rowing the two-kilometre accessible stretch into the Gorge du Verdon. .

RENTING A KAYAK AT LA BASE NAUTIQUE DE L’ÉTOILE

When you hire a kayak from us, we will lend you a waterproof plastic storage barrel to stop your belongings from getting wet. It would be very annoying to drop your mobile phone or engagement ring in the water. Even on the shoreline, objects disappear within seconds into the silt making it very hard to find them again.

Life jackets are also provided. Children’s life jackets are available for children weighing 10kg or more.

The Base Nautique does not take reservations! Just turn up!
