WELCOME TO PARADISE

The « Lac de Sainte-Croix » is a major tourist attraction which welcomes thousands of visitors every year. It is 2km wide and 10km long making it the perfect location for hiring a variety of vessels such as boats (electric only), pedalos, canoes and kayaks.

It is also a highly popular area for swimming and fishing. As the lake is man-made, it helps to provide electricity for neighbouring towns and villages through the operation of its dam. To find out more about this, you can visit the Tourist Office in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.

Nautical activities on Sainte-Croix lake.

You can hire a boat or canoe from La Base Nautique de l’étoile to access various beaches along le Lac de Sainte-Croix. Within the maximum hire duration of two hours, it is possible to access beaches on the opposite side of the lake that belong to the department of the Var (83).

By setting off from the far end of the Base Nautique, you can skirt the plateau de Valensole which is an ideal stretch to find a secluded beach for swimming or sunbathing before having to return your boat/canoe.

If you set off, with the bridge behind you, keeping to the same side as the Base Nautique, you will come to one of the lake’s most beautiful beaches, La Cadeno.
